Akshay-Kumar

The ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ seems to have captured too much attention. Many films are being made based on this subject and one of them will apparently have Akshay Kumar playing the lead. This film was supposedly being co-produced by Salman Khan and Karan Johar. We remember the picture of the trio, Akshay, Salman and Karan, making it to the internet announcing their collaboration. But this project hit a roadblock when Dabangg Khan opted out of this project. The reason for this was that he did not want to offend his good friend Ajay Devgn who is also making a film based on the same subject.

In his latest interview, Ajay confirmed that Salman is not making the film, but he does not know about the rest. Following this, reports had it that ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ starring Akshay Kumar has been shelved. But if the latest report in DNA are anything to go by then this project is very much on. KJo seems to be still producing this one sans Salman’s support. In fact, the report also reveals that this film has received a title, ‘Kesar’ which means ‘Saffron’. “The film is now titled ‘Kesar’, which means saffron,” the source said.

Speculations were rife about this project being in sync with the ruling government BJP as saffron is the colour of their flag. But refuting all these reports, the source informed, “The film has nothing to do with the BJP. Kesar stands for many things. It’s also a name. There is also a TV serial by the same name.”

Well, we await the official confirmation though.

P.S. There’s one more film based on the ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ which is being made by Rajkumar Santoshi and has Randeep Hooda in the lead. (Also Check: ‘Battle of Saragarhi’ first look: Randeep Hooda is filled with rage)
