Aditya Pancholi was booked for rape by Mumbai Police. The rape charges were slapped on against Pancholi by a Bollywood actress. Following the case registered against him, Aditya filed for an anticipatory bail in the Dindoshi sessions court. Pancholi was granted interim protection from arrest till July 19.

In the latest development in the case, Aditya’s interim protection from arrest has now been extended till August 3.

Pancholi’s advocate Prashant Patil told PTI, “The sessions court on Friday adjourned the hearing on the plea till August 3. The interim protection granted to Pancholi from arrest shall continue till then.” 

The actor-producer has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 384 (extortion), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, he has denied all the allegations and even said that he will fully co-operate with the Police in their investigation. Pancholi also stated that he has been ‘falsely implicated in this case.

Aditya has filed a defamation case against the actress who accused him of forcefully establishing a relationship with her.
