BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Akshay Kumar to return with Housefull 5 on THIS date

Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala joined hands in 2010 to come up with a film Housefull, that eventually turned into one of the biggest comedy franchise in the Hindi film industry. Over the last 13 years, a total of 4 instalments have come from the series. And now, Akshay Kumar is all set to come up with Housefull 5.

Akshay Kumar announces Housefull 5 with release date

On Friday, a day after Eid, Akshay took to Instagram to make the big announcement. He shared that he and Sajid are reuniting for the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise with a new director. Housefull 5 will be helmed by Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani. Akshay also divulged the release date of Housefull 5 in his caption.

He said,“Get ready for FIVE times the madness! Bringing to y’all #SajidNadiadwala’s #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!” Along with it, he also tagged Riteish Deshmukh in the caption, clearing that he will also be returning to the franchise. Akshay and Riteish have been a part of all Housefull films and it continues with Housefull 5 too.

Housefull franchise

The first Housefull film release in 2010 with Akshay, Riteish, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan and Lara Dutta. Housefull 2 came in 2012 and saw Akshay and Riteish return with John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueliene Fernandez and Zareen Khan. The third part came in 2016 with Abhishek Bachchan joining the original duo, and Jacqueliene returning with Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon. Housefull 4 came in 2019 with Akshay, Riteish, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde.

Sajid Khan directed the first two instalments of the series, with Sajid-Farhad taking the helm of the third film. Farhad Samji returned individually to helm Housefull 4 after Sajid Khan had to quit midway. This time Tarun Mansukhani takes the reins of the film in his hand.

Upcoming movies of Akshay Kumar

The upcoming movies of Akshay Kumar have quite a few interesting names at least for the next two years. First up is OMG 2 releasing on August 11. Then, The Great Indian Rescue with Parineeti Chopra, followed by Soorarari Pottru remake with Radhika Madan. He then has the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat where he plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Next year, he begins at Eid with Tiger Shroff co-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Then he has Hera Pheri 4 and Jolly LLB 3 too. And now, next year’s Diwali is also booked by him with Housefull 5.
