Post the release of his Hollywood movie ‘Victoria & Abdul’ opposite legendary actress Judi Dench, Ali Fazal has been on a professional high. The movie has catapulted him into the league of those Indian actors who have successfully delivered in the west too. Now, thanks to his growing popularity in the West, he has been approached to deliver a speech at the prestigious 7th Annual Hollywood Contenders. It will be held in Los Angeles on November 4 and he will be rubbing his shoulders alongside many Hollywood biggies. This makes him the first Indian actor to receive this honour. The actor also posted a picture of him with Judi Dench on Instagram and said, “Getting candid with the dame.! Miss her sometimes. Ali will be sharing anecdotes about his character in the movie ‘Victoria & Abdul’, about the growing diversity in Hollywood and about Indian cinema. An ecstatic Ali said, “Ideally, it would have been Judi and me there but I am going alone this time and of course, ‘Victoria & Abdul’ has done well across the globe. They way American audience has responded it is really really inviting and nice. Basically, Focus features have 3 films this year which are part of The Contenders and we all are going to be there. This is like early stage Contenders of the year who is giving a talk on how we came about making the film and what was our role in it and of course when it comes to me speaking on diversity and the involvement of actors such as me.”

For those unaware, The Contenders is an annual event where the largest Hollywood film studios come together and discuss the best of the cinema of that particular year wherein around two-three movies from each studio are selected.
