Alia Bhatt sends lots of love to neighbour Kriti Sanon as they win the National Film Award

Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon have all the right reason to rejoice as they were announced as winners of 69^th National Film Award. They bagged the best actress award for their performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi. While the winners list was announced in August, the award ceremony was organized in Delhi on 17^th October. Elated by the win, Alia Bhatt congratulated fellow winner and confirmed she is her neighbour.

Taking to social media, the National award winning actresses congratulated each other. Kriti wrote, “Aliaaaa @aliabhatt. Our smiles say it all!!! Will remember our moment we shared just before getting on stage. P.S. Ranbir did click a cut pic haa! (sic)”. Replying to her message Alia gushed, “Congratulations mimi…. Yesterday was so much more special cause of the moment we shared… lots of love neighbour… meet soon so Ranbir can take more pictures of us. (sic)”.

As soon as Alia shared the post, fans congratulated Kriti speculating she has got a new home in Bandra. Kriti Sanon earlier resided in rented duplex apartment in Andheri Lokhandwala which is owned by Megastar Amitabh Bachchan. In july, she was also seen scouting for her new house in Bandra and prime locations of Mumbai. Looking at Alia’s caption, seems like Kriti Sanon finally got a new home in Bandra.

For the prestigious moment, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon stunned in off-white saree. While Alia was accompanied by hubby Ranbir and she wore her wedding saree, Kriti Sanon came with her parents. Her Mimi co-star Pankaj Tripathi was also present at the ceremony.

When the actresses were announced as winners, Kriti shared how they were over the moon and screaming out of excitement. She hinted celebrating win together and told, “She was phenomenal in Gangubai Kathiawadi. I have always admired her as an actor. I congratulated her, and we were just two girls screaming on the phone, taking it in and being happy for each other. We [said] that when we go to take the award together, we will celebrate this moment.”

Apart from Kriti and Alia, Allu Arjun became the first Telugu actor to bag the best actor award for his performance in Pushpa. Apart from this Sardar Udham won the award for best Hindi film and Shershaah was conferred with special jury award.

With several glimpse of the award ceremony doing rounds on the internet, we can only conclude that it was a momentous day for Hindi Cinema.
