Upon hearing the demise of the legendary singer Asha Bhosle, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to share his sorrow. Expressing grief, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Sorrow and grief. An entire era, an incredible, a phenomenal, astounding, prodigious, presence lost yesterday, the iconic, legendary Asha Bhosle ji, has left us (sic).”

He further added, “In immense grief. Her versatility in giving life to every song she gave voice to, gone to the heavens. And has left us an entire encyclopedia of eternal music. Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away At 92

The iconic singer passed away at the age of 92 on April 12. She had reportedly been unwell for some time and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier after suffering cardiac and respiratory complications. Following her demise, several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Kajol, took to social media to mourn her loss and pay tribute. Singers Shreya Ghoshal and Rahul Vaidya also paid a musical tribute to the evergreen voice. Her mortal remains were kept for a final glimpse at her residence, Casa Grande, Lower Parel. The singer’s last rites took place at 4 pm on Monday.

The family shared details of the funeral of Asha Bhosle for fans and well-wishers wishing to pay their respects. Her son, Anand Bhosle, requested restraint and privacy during the funeral proceedings. He urged people not to gather in large numbers at the cremation site to prevent overcrowding.

Moreover, Asha Bhosle’s final rites are scheduled for today, April 13, at 4 pm at Shivaji Park crematorium. She will be cremated with full state honours. Extensive security arrangements have been put in place at the venue. Several political leaders and film personalities are expected to attend. Additionally, her demise has sparked nationwide mourning, with heartfelt tributes pouring in from the film and music communities across the country.
