Ashoke Pandit REACTS To Kangana Ranaut's Comments

The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s exit from ‘Don 3’ has sparked reactions within the Indian film industry. Recently, filmmaker and FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit addressed remarks made by actress-politician Kangana Ranaut regarding the non-cooperation directive issued against Ranveer by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Pandit spoke to the media after announcing that the directive had been revoked, clarifying the federation’s stance.

Ashoke Pandit REACTS To Kangana Ranaut’s Comments

During a recent event, Kangana Ranaut appeared to support Ranveer Singh, commenting, “Jab haisiyat badhti hai toh dushman bhi badhte hain,” which translates to “When stature increases, enemies also increase,” implying that opposition often accompanies success. Her remarks suggested sympathy towards Ranveer amid the dispute.

Reacting strongly, Ashoke Pandit dismissed the comments of Kangana Ranaut and questioned her understanding of the situation. He stated that the federation’s stand has been widely misunderstood, and many reactions were based on headlines rather than facts. Pandit emphasised, “A lot of people in the industry have started abusing us. Yesterday, Kangana also said something. They are not understanding the whole issue, and people are just commenting. Kangana also said that even I have been banned by the industry. I said, ‘You talk nonsense, that’s why I banned you.’ I don’t care. There is a big issue of the industry here. You don’t even know the issue. You are just saying things. We are not against Ranveer. We are talking about what has happened.”

Pandit highlighted that the federation’s decision was rooted in the issue of contractual and professional responsibilities, especially considering the recent controversy where Ranveer Singh’s reported departure from ‘Don 3’ allegedly caused financial losses to the film’s producers. The non-cooperation directive was issued as a response to these issues, but it has now been revoked.

He urged the public and industry members to understand the background and circumstances before forming opinions or reacting publicly, emphasising that the Federation’s actions aim to uphold accountability within the industry.
