Dharma Productions is gearing up to introduce another lively onscreen duo with its upcoming family entertainer. Reports suggest that Karan Johar has signed YouTube sensation Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi to star in Kuku Ki Kundali. It will be directed by Sharan Sharma, renowned for helming ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ and ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.’

Sources speaking to PeepingMoon said this film is a romantic comedy filled with laugh-out-loud moments, witty dialogues, and heartfelt family drama. The project has already created considerable buzz in industry circles with Bhuvan Bam’s official debut in mainstream Bollywood cinema. The comedian and content creator who rose to fame through his YouTube channel BB Ki Vines. He later transitioned into mainstream acting with Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Taaza Khabar,’ this film marks a significant milestone for Bam. He is excited to begin his feature film journey with a Dharma Productions venture. And he is eager to showcase his unique charisma on the big screen.

For the romantic lead, the filmmakers were seeking an actress who could complement Bhuvan’s comic flair. And they found the perfect match in Wamiqa Gabbi. She has earned widespread acclaim for her versatile performances in series and films such as ‘Jubilee,’ ‘Khufiya,’ ‘Baby John,’ and most recently, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf.’ Both Bhuvan and Wamiqa are expected to bring a fresh, dynamic energy to the screen with their engaging romantic and comedic chemistry. About Kuku Ki Kundali Production

Production is tentatively set to begin in late 2025, though the exact schedule is still being finalised. Meanwhile, Bhuvan is reportedly exploring other acting opportunities that could be filmed prior to ‘Kuku Ki Kundali’ going on floors.

Wamiqa’s Projects

Wamiqa, on her end, continues to juggle a compelling lineup of high-profile projects. She has already completed shooting for Priyadarshan’s ‘Bhoot Bangla’ with Akshay Kumar, Vikas Bahl’s ‘Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling’ with Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adivi Sesh’s ‘Goodachari 2.’ Next month, she begins filming for Mudassar Aziz’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. She is also expected to join the cast of Raj & DK’s Netflix series ‘Rakt Brahmand,’ though that project is still facing financial uncertainties and has no confirmed production timeline.

Interestingly, director Sharan Sharma was previously developing an emotionally intense human drama featuring Sidharth Malhotra. However, that project has now been shelved. Sharma is fully focused on ‘Kuku Ki Kundali,’ which promises to deliver an entertaining, fun-filled cinematic experience in theatres.
