Several production houses are rushing to register the title Operation Sindoor with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. A screenshot from the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks website reveals a growing queue of applications for this name, indicating a keen interest in developing a film around this theme.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, the front-runner in this contest has been Mahaveer Jain’s company. It was the first to register this title under its name. Alongside Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and studios like T-Series and Zee Studios are also said to have promptly applied.

What Is Operation Sindoor?

In response to the brutal attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in 26 civilian deaths, India launched a significant counter-strike deep into Pakistani territory under the codename Operation Sindoor. Executed overnight, the Indian Air Force targeted nine key terrorist-linked sites. It includes the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and several hideouts and madrasas associated with wanted terrorists Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed. The operation targeted five locations in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (POK) and four in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
