Celina Jaitley Pens Emotional Note For Soldier Brother
The Delhi High Court, led by Justice Sachin Datta, has issued a notice to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and asked for a detailed status report within four weeks. The court has also ordered the appointment of a nodal officer to follow up on the case. The next hearing is scheduled for December 4.
Celina shared her emotions in a heartfelt social media post titled “Standing for a Soldier: A Ray of Hope from the Delhi High Court in the Case of Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly.”
She posted pictures with her brother and expressed her gratitude to the court for taking up the matter. According to her plea, Major Jaitly was allegedly abducted and detained in Abu Dhabi and has been in custody for over 14 months without proper access to legal or medical support. He has been working in the UAE since 2016 with the MATITI Group. Celina claims that despite repeated appeals through the MADAD portal and visits to the Indian Embassy, she has received no verified communication or updates on her brother’s condition.
She has urged the MEA to ensure his legal representation, allow direct communication, and maintain regular consular visits to monitor his welfare. The plea emphasises that the Indian government has a moral and constitutional duty to protect the rights of citizens detained abroad.
