As per a recent report by PTI, the warrant is issued by additional Chief Judicial magistrate Mahendra Rawat and it will be served to the choreographer in Mumbai after taking permission from Inspector General of Police, Meerut Zone. As per the law, special permission is needed to serve the warrant in other states said Deputy Superintendent of Police Atish Kumar.

It all started in 2016 when a complainant accused Remo D’Souza of fraud of Rs. 5 crores. Gaziabad based complainant Satyendra Tyagi back then had accused that the choreographer had borrowed Rs. 5 crore for his film ‘Amar Must Die’ and promised him to double the profit i.e Rs 10 crores.

However, the complainant states that he has not yet got his investment back. Not just that, Remo also failed to attend court sessions in Gaziabad. And thus, a non-bailable warrant has been issued against the choreographer-turned-filmmaker.

On the work front, Remo’s upcoming film, ‘Street Dancer’  stars Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and it is slated to hit the screens on January 24, 2020.
