Hirdesh Singh, who goes by his stage name Yo Yo Honey Singh was granted divorce with Shalini Talwar by the Delhi Court on Tuesday. It is after two and a half years of litigation that the two have been granted divorce by Principal Family Court Judge Paramjit Singh. Last year in September, Yo Yo Honey Singh and his wife reached a settlement for which the singer and rapper paid Rs. 1 crore as alimony for the divorce settlement.

On Tuesday, Yo Yo Honey Singh and his wife were granted divorce by the Delhi Court. Before pronouncing this, Singh was asked by the judge whether he still wishes to live with his wife. Replying to this, Yo Yo Honey Singh did not give a positive response. He stated that there was no further chance of the two living together.

It was in 2021, that Honey Singh’s wife had accused his family for breaking her down mentally and emotionally. The rapper was also accused of physical violence in which Shalini had claimed that she had evidence for proof. After Honey Singh and his wife Shalini Talwar reached a settlement, the allegations were withdrawn. After the accusations, Honey Singh issued a statement terming the allegations as ‘false and malicious’. Requested fans to not come up to a conclusion, Honey Singh had said, “The allegations are subject to be proven.”

Advocate Ishaan Mukherjee who appeared for Honey Singh told Hindustan Times, “The second motion has been granted and the divorce decree has been issued.” 

Earlier, Honey Singh had also said that he has been working in the industry for more than fifteen years. He stated that he has worked with renowned artists and musicians. He shared that everyone was aware about his relationship with his wife who has been an integral part of his career. He refuted all the allegations and did not comment any further.
