Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar 2 continues its incredible run in theatres, breaking records along the way. In an unusual move, a Canadian cinema chain, Cineplex, introduced an intermission during a screening of Dhurandhar The Revenge, surprising audiences. This mid-film break, rarely seen in international cinemas, was reportedly added after repeated viewer requests due to the film’s extended runtime.
Canada Theatre Adds Interval During Ranveer Singh-Led Dhurandhar 2 Screening
A fan captured the rare intermission on Instagram, sharing a video from a Cineplex screening. “Unlike theatres in India, Cineplex usually doesn’t have an intermission. But Dhurandhar 2 changed that,” she noted, mentioning that the 15-minute break occurred midway through the nearly four-hour film.
The post explained that the decision was made following multiple requests from viewers wanting a break during the long movie. “We couldn’t believe it. I’ve never seen this happen in my 20+ years in Canada. We were all cheering,” she added.
The video quickly gained popularity online, with viewers sharing mixed but mostly enthusiastic reactions. Some mentioned that they hadn’t experienced an interval in their screenings, while others noted that long Indian films, especially recent South Indian hits, have occasionally prompted similar breaks in international theatres.
However, a few days prior, screenings of the film in Montreal were disrupted after reports of sabotage emerged from two cinema halls. Viral social media videos showed miscreants slashing theatre screens during shows, causing interruptions and chaos.
