There’s no doubt that Neelima is one of the coolest mothers-in-law. Speaking about her love and admiration for Mira, the veteran actress said, “See when you are cool, then you are cool with everything around in your life. Every department, dimension and section of your life will be cool. I love fun, I love friendship, I love good times. I love to exchange and I connect with young people well. And the reason for that is my father was an extremely friendly man. And my mother was always a friend. So I think that is what I knew. I credit people who have had very authoritarian parents and that kind of hierarchy in their families and still turn out to be cool people. I don’t take the credit for it because I mean that is what I had and that’s what I know. I adore Mira. I love her. She is a friend and I look forward to spending time with her. As two women, one younger one older but yet friends. There is a sense of oneness that is beautiful. She is a great girl.”

Reacting to Shahid’s claims that she and Mira gang up against him, Neelima clarifies, “That is typically Shahid to say that. We don’t gang up against him. We just have each other’s back and I think as women that’s important. Because though Shahid is a very giving, understanding and feminist. And I guess children especially boys, in this case, the elder one, has a deeper respect for the opposite sex because they have seen their mother come through. With Mira, I have all the understanding of what two women who are on the same page can have and who share the same life and same people. And we are both cool.”

The veteran actress went on to add, “I understand her because she is young. She has got kids at a very young age. She is extremely intelligent and individual. Yet she is so kind and giving. Mira is someone who doesn’t try to get attention or seek that highlight. She is just not a brat from any side. She is very well brought up. Another reason why I feel I understand her a lot is because I am very good friends with her mom and so with her father too. Her father and I get along very well. We have a similar sense of humour and a similar personality in certain ways. But it’s her mom with whom I am developing a deeper relationship.”
