CONFIRMED! Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan to star in ‘Good News’

After months of speculation, Karan Johar finally confirms Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s film ‘Good News’. Apart from these two, the film will also star Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in lead roles.

Karan Johar announced about the same on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “#GoodNews IS HERE! Bringing a fantastic cast of @akshaykumar, #KareenaKapoorKhan, @diljitdosanjh & @Advani_Kiara to the big screen with our debutant director @raj_a_mehta! This DRAMEDY’s due date is 19th July 2019! @apoorvamehta18 @ShashankKhaitan @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms”

This is not the first time Akshay and Kareena will be seen working together. The two have previously worked in films like ‘Ajnabee’, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, ‘Tashan’ and ‘Bewafaa’. Kareena has also shared the screen with Diljit in ‘Udta Punjab’.

‘Good News’ is a laugh riot, a family drama in which Akshay and Kareena are playing a married couple and trying for a baby. While Diljit and Kiara are essaying the role of a Punjabi married couple trying for a baby as well.

It is expected to go on the floor by the end of this year.

While promoting ‘Gold’, the actor spoke about his films in an interaction with Rajeev Masand. He said, “I’ve balanced myself. I play different kinds of people. In ‘Housefull 4’, it’s going to be different.”

Akshay added, “I’m doing a film called ‘Good News’ that’s completely different. It’s a real incident by the way, what happened in ‘Good News’. But, it’s very funny what happened.”
