Speaking about working after becoming a mother, Soni Razdan shared, “When I was working and became a mother, it was very different. In fact, I didn’t get work because I was not only a mother, but I had also got married. The minute I got married, they were like, ‘She’s got married, so what is the need to work?’ It was a fight. It was an uphill battle for me to get a role. You know, it was really, very, very different. So I am so happy that this has happened now. I think my daughter is in that position, and you are, Alia, me exactly, and that’s evolution.”

The veteran actress continued, “My husband was giving me roles where I would just die in everything. My children are like, ‘Why does Papa always kill you?’ So those were the roles. And then CineMisters gave me work, like proper roles. And then my husband was like, ‘I’ve got a role for you.’ I said, ‘How many scenes? Do I die?’ He said, ‘Yeah, yeah, two scenes.’ I said, ‘No, sorry.’ That’s literally it. So I have a lot to thank them for.”

Soni Razdan’s upcoming projects include the Netflix mystery thriller Shaque: Trust No One. It premieres on September 24, 2026.
