Govinda turns emotional paying tribute to late Saroj Khan; recalls first meeting with her

Saroj Khan passed away on Friday (July 3) at the Guru Nanak hospital in Mumbai where she was admitted a few days back due to breathing issues. She had a cardiac arrest. Govinda who worked with Masterji in many films mourned her death in a video and prayed to God for the departed soul of the legendary choreographer.

Recalling his first meeting with Saroj Khan, Govinda said, “Main keh raha tha ki main aapse dance shikhna chahta hoon. Par mere pass paise nahi hain. Aur aap bohot hi prem se keh rahi thi, ‘Aayenge tab dekhenge’. Aap jaise logon ke waise se hi hum jaise aam aadmi Govind se nikalke Govinda ho pate hain.”

Govinda also shared a throwback picture along with the video and captioned, “#Rip Saroj Khan ji 🙏🏻💔 Masterji Love you always !!(sic)”.

Saroj Khan made many Bollywood celebrities dance on-screen. From Amitabh Bachchan, Farah Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, to Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, many celebs expressed their grief over her death.

Her funeral took place at Malad on Friday at around 7 in the morning. The prayer meet got postponed due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Yesterday, Saroj Khan’s daughter thanked all for their messages and for keeping her mother in their prayers.
