A recent report on ANI quoted Amjad Khan saying, “Ab fatwa lag gaya hai (now a fatwa has been issued) by a person from Noida. There is a poster that has Malala holding a book and standing next to a blast, and he thinks it is the Quran. He thinks we haven’t shown respect for the holy book. He called me a kafir.”
As per the report, Khan is said to have been trying to have a word with him so that he can explain to them that its an English book and not Quran.
While talking about the police case, he said, “You have to report, which I have done. I would say he hasn’t been able to understand things. I am making a film about peace. If I file a police case then the police will bring him in, and then why am I even making the film?”
Coming back to the film, ‘Gul Makai’ traces the real-life story of Pakistani based Malala Yousafzai (Nobel Peace Prize winner). The film is slated to hit the silver screens on January 31.
