We all loved Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s terrific chemistry in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. And if the latest reports are anything to go by then very soon these two powerhouse performers will be reuniting on the silver screen.

As per a report in Peeping Moon, Alia and Ranveer will be next teaming up for a romance film which will be directed by none other than Karan Johar. Read on to know the details.

If these reports are anything to go by then this will be the first time when KJo will be directing Ranveer. Also, the film will mark Karan’s comeback to directing a full-fledged feature film after a gap of almost five years.

The filmmaker had last directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan in a pivotal role. Post Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, while Karan did helm a segment in Lust Stories and Ghost Stories each, however, he is yet to announce his next feature film directorial. Karan will also be directing his protege Alia after a long time. The filmmaker directed her last in her debut film Student of The Year (SOTY).

Interestingly, Ranveer and Alia were supposed to reunite again in KJo’s magnum opus Takht. However, with the film being put on the back burner for a while, looks like they will be reuniting for Dharma Production’s another romance drama. Karan was supposed to start shooting Takht last year, a period drama set in the Mughal era, however owing to the pandemic the film was put on hold.

Takht boasts of a terrific ensemble cast featuring Ranveer, Alia, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. While rumours of Alia and Ranveer starring in KJo’s next are rife however with no official confirmation from the production house or the stars, all we can do now is wait and watch.
