Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was on Wednesday handed out a five-year jail term by a Mumbai sessions court after being found guilty of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case. Wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, Salman, as we told you broke down on hearing the verdict and there were tears in his eyes. Khan’s family members too were upset and his two sisters also broke down in the courtroom.

While convicting Khan, sessions court judge DW Deshpande, said all the charges against him including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, had been proved. Salman Khan was taken into custody after the sentencing and would be sent to Arthur Road Jail later in the day.

Salman Khan’s lawyer Shrikant Shivade moved High Court for Bail application. The appeal for bail was done in front of Justice Thipsay. Senior lawyer Harish Salve has appeared for Salman Khan seeking bail plea in Bombay High Court. The latest development is that Salman Khan has been GRANTED BAIL of two days.
