Bitcoin scam: Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, summoned by Enforcement Directorate

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate(ED). Kundra has been summoned in connection with the Bitcoin scam that had shaken the nation recently. Kundra is presently being questioned in Mumbai.

The bitcoin scam came to light when Amit Bhardwaj the brain behind it was arrested in Pune by the crime cell of police there. On interrogation, he revealed many shocking details of his Bitcoin scam that was done from gatbitcoin.com website. The man had fooled investors to the tune of Rs. 2000 crores. Bhardwaj further revealed that many Bollywood celebrities promoted the scheme.

Sources reported that Raj Kundra is being questioned but not much light could be shed on the same. The question which remains in everyone’s mind was that if he was part of the scam or just an investor.

For the uninitiated Bitcoins are virtual currencies, that entered the market in 2009. This virtual currency can be used in any part of the world to make payments. Bitcoins or the virtual currencies (VCs) are illegal in India as of now, the IT department has taken action as per the existing provisions.
