CONFIRMED: Irrfan Khan’s son Babil to debut in Anushka Sharma produced Netflix movie Qala

Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan took to Instagram to share the first look of his debut film, Qala. The Anushka Sharma production also stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee and will release on Netflix. The first-look teaser of Qala has been released by Netflix. The teaser of the film shows the cast and crew shooting the film despite heavy snowfall. There are shots of the script pages and camera recordings. We can see Babil in a close-up shot and Tripti as well.

Sharing the teaser, Babil wrote on Instagram, “Tripti freaking Dimri is back again!!!!!! Whooooooo!!! (and a little bit of me) Also I’m a bit skeptical about the phrase ‘getting launched’ because the audience should launch off their seats while watching our film and not any individual actor. ‘From the creators of Bulbbul, Clean Slate Filmz and Anvita Dutt, we bring you #Qala, a Netflix Original film. Qala will be here soon to share her story of her fight for a place in her mother’s heart (sic).’”

Earlier Babil had shared a photo clad in winter clothes with a friend to announce the shoot wrap of his first acting schedule. He is seen standing against the backdrop of snowy landscape. He wrote, “I have finished my first shooting schedule. Damn. Also with my childhood best friend bama side. In the process, I realised that it is absolutely necessary to remember that your self-importance will drown you if you’re not extremely careful and honest with yourself. You are part of a story and the story will always be bigger than you. (Whether you are an actor or not). Have a great day today (sic)!”

Irrfan breathed his last on April 29 after a long battle with neuroendocrine tumour. He was last seen in Angrezi Medium with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan. Not a single week has passed without Babil remembering his dad through an emotional social media post. Through various pictures and videos of his late father, Babil has always established an emotional connect with the netizens.

Meanwhile, Irrfan received the Best Actor Award in a prestigious Awards of 2021. Babil accepted the award on his father’s behalf. He also wore late Irrfan’s outfit to the event. While receiving the award we could see the emotional side of Babil as he broke down.
