Veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan has responded to recent incidents involving paparazzi and her grandson Agastya Nanda, brushing off concerns about camera crews crowding around him. Jaya addressed the situation publicly for the first time, emphasising her protective instinct as a grandmother while making it clear that external attention will not disrupt Agastya’s life or career.

In an interview with Variety India, she firmly dismissed the speculation, asserting that no outside influence or pressure has the power to shape or derail his destiny. She said, “No power on earth can change my grandson’s destiny. If Agastya is destined to be a star, nothing can change it. Agastya will have his own equation with the press. It has nothing to do with me,” she said.
The comment comes amid heightened interest in Agastya following his entry into the film industry. As grandchildren of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and daughter of Shweta Bachchan, Agastya’s every step has drawn attention from fans and paparazzi alike. His film debut and public appearances have often been met with throngs of photographers, leading to occasional tense moments as media crews compete for shots.
Jaya’s response aims to set the tone for how the family views the attention — not as a threat but a part of celebrity life that should not overshadow Agastya’s individual growth. By stressing that “no power on earth” can affect him, she offered a reassurance that extends beyond defiance of the paparazzi to a broader belief in his talent and strength.
Her remarks have resonated with fans and observers, many of whom see her words as a mature stance on media scrutiny. Instead of expressing frustration, Jaya chose to highlight resilience, pride and faith in the next generation’s ability to handle public attention responsibly.
