Talking about the criticism her film has garnered, Kiara Advani told Hindustan Times, “Personally, I may not agree with certain scenes and they may make me uncomfortable. But those things were there to also make you uncomfortable as his character [Kabir Singh] was flawed. I didn’t look at him as a hero.”

The pretty actress further added,”It’s good that it was debated upon and I leave it at that. I looked at it as a film and a fictional story, wherein nobody is telling you to be like any of them. I have moved on now.”

The debate on Kabir Singh’s character started making headlines during the time of its release for the glorification of the violent character in the film. Several critics pointed out that the director has endorsed physical violence in the name of love. Both Shahid-Kiara’s characters were physically violent towards one another. ‘Kabir Singh’ was the Hindi remake of Telugu hit film ‘Arjun Reddy’.

The film was helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who had also directed the original ‘Arjun Reddy‘.
