EXCLUSIVE: Karan Johar gets emotional about his dad: He never judged me for dancing on Jaya Prada’s songs

Karan Johar was very close to his father Yash Johar and we have often seen him talking about his late father in many interviews. Also, he often remembers his filmmaker dad on social media on special occasions. In Bollywood Bubble’s His Story Season 1, Karan opened up about getting trolled, judged, his show Koffee With Karan and a lot more. The filmmaker also got emotional talking about his dad. KJo remembered the moment that is close to his heart when Shah Rukh Khan came alone on KWK and spoke about the former’s dad and he got teary for the first time. Karan said his father has let him to be himself. When asked if he credits his father for that ‘element’ in him, he said, ‘yes’. He added, “He was a very progressive thinking and open and large hearted man. He never ever made me feel like I was different from anybody else.”

He further said, “I remember when I saw Sargam when I was eight years old, I came back and used to dance to Dafli Wale Dafli Baja. He was so proud of it and he used to make me dance in front of his friends. He never thought strange that his eight-year old son is dancing to all of Jaya Prada’s songs. He was just proud of me and I hope he is proud of me wherever he is today”.

Karan is all set to host Koffee With Karan Season 7. The show will premiere today (July 7) on Disney+Hotstar. The first guests of the chat show are Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Both are starring in Karan’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The promo of KWK7 is out and we can’t wait to watch the first episode.
