Katrina Kaif on playing Kumud: I was happy that it was written for someone else

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif believes in doing the hard work and not resting on laurels. The diva is currently busy promoting Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’ and she interacted with the media. Kat is playing the role of Kumud Raina and she came as a replacement for Priyanka Chopra.

Katrina talked about her character Kumud in ‘Bharat’ and said, “It’s so strong and unusual. I was happy that he wrote the film with someone else in mind, as certain nuances of the person seep into the writing unknowingly. And, since Kumud was written for someone else, it ended up being unlike anything I have done before. Personally, it was a challenge to immerse myself into it and give it my all.”

Kat further added, “I had two months to prepare for the part. Ali (Abbas Zafar, director of ‘Bharat’) told me that Priyanka would not be doing the film anymore.”

Katrina Kaif will soon be completing two decades in the industry and is still willing to learn her craft.

‘Bharat’ is a larger than life extravaganza and will see Salman in five different phases. This blockbuster also features Disha Patani, Tabu, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff in lead roles. ‘Bharat’ is releasing on June 5, 2019.
