‘Kesari’ teaser: Akshay Kumar takes on an army alone in this war drama

As promised, Akshay Kumar has shared the first promo of his upcoming war drama ‘Kesari’. The movie, that is based on a true story has the ‘PadMan’ star depicting the role of Havildar Ishaar Singh, who led the Sikhs in the Battle of Saragarhi. He defended his post against an army of 10,000 Afghan soldiers.

In the promo, we can see Akshay’s fierce avatar as he faces the enemy with a blood-tipped sword.

Earlier in the day, Akshay Kumar had shared a new poster of the film. He can be seen standing Alone in front of 10,000 Afghan soldiers, with a sword in his hand. The movie is based on ‘The Battle of Saragarhi’ that happened on September 12, 1897, and is considered to be one of the greatest battles ever fought in history. 21 Sikhs of the British Indian Army fought valiantly against the Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen to protect the forts of Lockhart and Gulistan on the border areas of Afghanistan.

‘Kesari’ also features Parineeti Chopra as Akshay Kumar’s love interest and is being produced by Karan Johar. The film is slated to release on March 21.

On the work front, this year, Akshay Kumar will be seen in ‘Mission Mangal’, ‘Good News’, ‘Housefull 4′ and ‘Sooryavanshi’.
