Kriti Sanon is one of the most popular and successful actors in Bollywood. Kriti recently bagged her first National Award for Best Actress for her performance in Mimi. The 69th National Film Awards is taking place in Delhi with President Droupadi Murmu conferring the awards. For the event, Kriti opted for a saree and looked beyond beautiful.

Kriti Sanon receives her FIRST National Award

The actress went on stage with folded hands to receive her Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards. In Laxman Utekar directorial, Kriti played the role of a woman who opts to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple. Kriti as Mimi delivered a phenomenal performance in the film.

Fans showered love on Kriti. A fan commented, “Congratulations for your first National Award win… Well deserved @kritisanon.” Another fan wrote, “Congratulations.”

Kriti jointly received the Best Actress National award with Alia Bhatt, who won for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The Laxman Utekar directorial also starred Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar. Earlier, Kriti had shared a special post to celebrate her big win. In her note, Kriti had thanked the team of Mimi, friends and family members. A part of her caption read, “Laxman sir… You always told me “Mimi, dekhna aapko is film ke liye National Award milega”… mil gaya sir! And I couldn’t have done this without you!

Kriti’s journey in Bollywood

Kriti made her Bollywood debut with Heropanti co-starring Tiger Shroff. Over the years, she has appeared in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shehzada, Adipurush, and Luka Chuppi among others. The actress next has Ganapath with Tiger Shroff and Amitabh Bachchan. It is slated to release on 20th October, 2023. Post that, she will be seen in The Crew with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.
