Malaika Arora was either eagerly awaiting the monsoons or just in some mood for making an ‘anti-plastic ban’ style statement! No matter what the reason is, we can’t quite assimilate why she wore that in the sweltering summer heat of Delhi and please note, for a morning event! Malaika was felicitated with an award by the FICCI Ladies Organisation in the capital city recently where she was seen in a dress by Lebanese designer, Hass Idriss. Now here’s why we’re talking about the plastic ban non-adherence. Her muted dress had a bondage-style belt and straps along with a monsoon-y, plastic skirt.

We get it! We’re never the ones to join the troll game, but one look at her Instagram account and you’ll see how she got mocked for her outfit amidst the plastic ban chaos in the state. But the actress was quick to clarify that the skirt is made from PVC, not plastic. Well, point taken, lady!

Nevertheless, we think the outfit is super sultry waist up, considering the deep back and corset-like, harness straps. The actress has rounded off the look with delicate pearl earrings and rings from Khanna Jewellers. Fashion stylist Maneka Harisinghani has kept the look fuss-free with nude sandals that really work for such an eccentric ensemble.

The makeup is kept simple with natural lips, well-defined eyebrows and subtle kohl.

Though we don’t quite detest this dress, it just felt a bit out of place. But the diva did pull it off like nobody’s business. After all, isn’t fashion all about not giving a rat’s a*s about anyone else’s opinion?
