Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says the shoot for his next movie ‘Manmarziyan’ was halted due to “creative differences” between the director and producer, but the shoot will resume from August.

According to media reports, producer Anand L. Rai was unhappy with the way the film was shaping up under Sameer Sharma’s direction. In fact, the team shot a schedule in Shimla, and later in Punjab, but Rai decided to put the film on hold.

Asked about the current status of the movie, Ayushmann told IANS: “There was a creative difference between the producer and the director. The shoot has got delayed, but it is going to happen in August.”

The movie is giving Ayushmann a chance to be seen on screen again with his ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ co-star Bhumi Pednekar, whose character will be completely opposite of Sadhana — the role she essayed in the Sharat Katariya directorial.

Talking about his character, the 31-year-old actor says unlike the “boyish” characters that he has played in his other films, he would be seen essaying a man not by age, but by his thinking.

“In ‘Manmarziyan’, I am playing a man. I have always played very boyish roles for my films. In this, he is not vulnerable. He has control of the situations… So I think this time around it is a mature character not by age… I guess it is very different from me,” he said.

‘Manmarziyan’ has been shot in Punjab and the ‘Nautanki Saala!’ star assures that the classic love story will show the “authenticity of Punjab”.

“Punjabi comes naturally to me… It’s my first language though in ‘Vicky Donor’ it was more urban, but this time, you will see Punjab in real way. The authenticity of Punjab will be seen in ‘Manmarziyan’ for sure,” he added.
