On the glorious occasion of Independence Day, Bollywood’s renowned music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman are set to release a patriotic number. Titled ‘Mera Desh Hi Mera Dharam’, the song is dedicated to the jawans of Indian Army who put their own lives in danger to ensure the nation’s security.

The idea originated when they met Narendra Modi a few months back, and he suggested that they should make a song for the country. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s idea, they decided to release the song on country’s 70th Independence Day. (Also Read:  When a young Salman Khan earned the respect of his father, Salim Khan)

“We dedicate the song to the jawans who happily sacrifice their lives for the sake of their nation. With this feeling and emotion, Sulaiman and I created this song. The lyrics that have been penned down by Sandeep Srivastava also express the same sentiment,” Salim told ANI, in a conversation.

”They keep us safe & protect us, we sleep peacefully at night while they risk their lives for the country. We salute our Armed Forces on the occasion of India’s 70th year of Independence, by dedicating a song in their honour,” his conversation with radioandmusic.com read.

“It’s been 70 years of Independence, and most of the songs are made for the country but it has never happened that a song has been made for the jawans. We are independent because of our army,” added Sulaiman.

We await the number to release soon!
