‘Naagin’: Shraddha Kapoor to play shape-shifting snake in this trilogy

Actress Shraddha Kapoor has bagged a trilogy in which she will be seen playing the role of a shape-shifting Naagin (snake). The film will be helmed by Vishal Furia and produced by Nikhil Dwivedi. Obviously, the actress is excited about this project and she is looking forward to playing a Naagin on the silver screen.

Indian cinema has seen innumerable films made on Naagins. Earlier we have seen iconic actresses like Reena Roy and Sridevi play a shape-shifting snake on the silver screen. Their roles went on to become so popular that they are still remembered today. Shraddha says that she has grown up admiring Sridevi’s ‘Nagina’ and ‘Nigahen’ and now that she has got this opportunity she is looking forward to it.

Sharing her excitement over the trilogy, Shraddha tweeted, “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore.”

Well, this comes as great news for the actress’ fans.

Recently, the actress was in the news after NCB summoned her for questioning in the drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.  Shraddha was last seen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Baaghi 3’ opposite Tiger Shroff. Apart from ‘Naagin’, Shraddha will also be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s untitled directorial.
