When asked about the infamous post, the Badhaai Ho actress said, “Himmat ka kaam nahi tha. Ye aisa hua ki shaadi ke baad media ne mere bare mai ye pheila diya ki mai aab Delhi mai rehti hoon aur mereko kaam nahi karna. Maine chod diya kaam. Iss waje se mujhe kaam nahi aa raha tha. Finally, ek din mai kisise milne ja rahi thi. Toh unki assistant mujhe mili. Toh usne pucha, ‘when did you come?’. (It didn’t need courage. It was after my marriage media spread the news that I live in Delhi and don’t want to work. For that reason, I didn’t get work. Finally, I went to meet someone and then I met the assistant of that person who asked me, ‘when did you come’) I was living in Mumbai. I never left Mumbai. I got very angry, came home aur maine woh likh diya aur post kar diya (and wrote that and posted it).

She added, “Mujhe delete karna tha par aata nahi tha. Phir maine kaha Masaba toh meri band bajayegi. Masaba ne kya emotional uspe likha aur log mujhe milte the aankh bharke. ‘Maam you are so brave, you said this’. Aisa kuch tha nahi. Maine aise keh diya tha. Brave bhi ho sakta hai in a way (I wanted to delete the post but didn’t know. I thought Masaba will screw me. But she wrote an emotional post and people met me with teary eyes. I said it casually. It was nothing like that. It might be a brave act in a way)”

“The reason was that I was not getting work because of media talking rubbish about me,” Neena said further.
