Renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur recently took to his Twitter handle to share the news that if he ever makes ‘Paani’, he will dedicate it to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The filmmaker was supposed to make the film with the late actor in the lead under the banner of Yash Raj Films. However, owing to the filmmaker’s alleged creative difference with Aditya Chopra, the film was shelved indefinitely.

Today taking to the microblogging site, Shekhar Kapur said that if god willing someday he makes ‘Paani’ then he will dedicate it to Sushant. He also said in order to make the film, he needs partners who are humble and not arrogant.

If you want to journey with the Gods, or your creativity, you have to walk each step in devotion. In humility. God willing #Paani will get made one day. If it does, I will dedicate it to Sushant. But it has to be made with partners that walk in humility, not in arrogance,” tweeted the ‘Mr.India’ director.

Earlier after Sushant’s demise, Kapur had revealed how heartbroken both of them were when ‘Paani’ was shelved. “‘Paani’, producers told that they won’t do the movie with Sushant. I was angry at that time when the producers said no and went out of India,” Shekhar had said in a live session with Manoj Bajpayee.

Recalling how excited the actor was about working with him in ‘Paani’, the director had shared, “He(Sushant) was bouncing up and down, so excited that he was going to work with me and do ‘Paani’. The great thing about Sushant that I noticed was that acting did not stop with rehearsing the lines or reading the script or doing the movements. His interest went way beyond… Every time I had a meeting with the production designer or the DOP or VFX team, he was there.”

34-year-old Sushant committed suicide a month back. Since then, ‘Paani’ being shelved is cited as one of the reasons why the late actor was depressed.
