Padmavati

Looks like the release of ‘Padmavati’ outside India is also in trouble. Even though the British Censor Board has given a clean chit to the film, Supreme Court is yet to give a green signal on whether it can release abroad or not. As per the latest reports, Supreme Court on Thursday ruled out that it will listen to the fresh plea on November 28 with regards to film’s ban in abroad market.

A bench of Chief Justice, comprising of Dipak Misra, Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice DY Chandrachud decided to hear the plea after the petitioner told the court that  a grave damage would be done to social harmony if the movie was allowed to be released abroad.

Meanwhile, a few reports also claim that the makers themselves have decided to not release the film abroad before it makes it to the Indian theatres. It could possibly to avoid piracy. (Also Read: Padmavati: Is director Abhishek Kapoor missing Pahlaj Nihalani as CBFC chief?)

The Censor Board of Film Certification, India, is yet to give its verdict on this film. The makers irked the authorities at CBFC as they showed the film to certain journalists before obtaining a certificate. Now the CBFC is taking its own time to deal with the subject.
