Late comedian Raju Srivastava and megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared a great bond with each other. When Raju was admitted in the hospital, Mr Bachchan even sent him a voice note to wake him up from coma. Srivastava’s daughter Antara has penned a heartfelt note for Bachchan ji. On Tuesday, she shared the note expressing her gratitude for the actor and thanked him for being a source of “strength and support” to the family..

The note was shared by Antara on Raju Srivastava’s Instagram page. It read, “Extremely grateful to Shri @amitabh bachchan uncle for being there for us every single day during this tough time. Your prayers gave us an abundance of strength and support, which we will remember forever…”

She added, “You are my father’s idol, inspiration, love and Guru. Since the first time dad saw you on the big screen, you have stayed within him forever. He not just followed you on-screen but off it also”. Antara also revealed that her father had saved Mr Bachchan’s number as ‘Guru ji’ in his contacts.

Raju Srivastava who was also known as Gajodhar Bhaiya passed away on Wednesday (September 21). He suffered a heart attack on August 10 while working out at a gym in Delhi. He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital city. He underwent angioplasty and later was shifted to the ICU as his condition worsened. He was 58. Srivastava’s last rites were performed on September 22 at Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi. The prayer meet was held in Mumbai that was attended by his friends and colleagues from the industry. Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh, Shailesh Lodha, Sunil Pal among others were present.

Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to Raju in his blog. He called him his ‘colleague, friend and a creative artist’.
