Ranbir Kapoor Denies Starring In Dhoom 4; Skips Answering About Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park

The Ramayana team recently attended San Diego Comic-Con to promote their upcoming film. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash were present at the event, discussing their project. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor addressed his upcoming projects, denying reports that he is involved in Dhoom 4. He also did not mention Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park when talking about his future films at Comic-Con. Scroll down to read the full story.

Ranbir Kapoor Denies Being A Part Of Dhoom 4

On the Review Nation YouTube channel, the host mentioned that Yash will soon star in Toxic, in addition to Ramayana, and claimed Ranbir Kapoor will star in Dhoom 4. However, Ranbir clarified, “No, right now I am working on Ramayana and another film called Love & War. That is directed by Mr. Sanjay Bhansali. It should be out on January 24 next year,” he stated.

The release date for Love & War was announced as January 21. Also, he did not mention Animal Park, the sequel to his 2023 hit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in his upcoming lineup.

When Did These Rumours Start?

Rumors about Ranbir taking over the Dhoom franchise have been circulating for years. In 2024, a Pinkvilla report cited a source claiming that Aditya Chopra believed Ranbir was perfect for the role and that the actor had shown interest after discussions. When hairstylist Aalim Hakim posted pictures of Ranbir’s new look shortly after, many fans speculated it was for Dhoom 4 or Animal Park. In 2025, Peeping Moon even suggested that Vicky Kaushal might also be considered for a role. However, there has been no official confirmation from Yash Raj Films regarding the project.

About The Dhoom Franchise

The Dhoom franchise began in 2004 with Abhishek Bachchan as ACP Jai Dixit, Uday Chopra as the sidekick Ali, and John Abraham as the villain Kabir Sharma. Esha Deol and Rimi Sen also starred in the original film. Dhoom 2 in 2006 expanded the franchise with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai joining the cast as thieves Aryan Singhania and Sunheri Kaur. The franchise’s popularity soared with the sequel’s success.

Dhoom 3, released in 2013, starred Aamir Khan as twins Sahir and Samar Khan, with Katrina Kaif playing gymnast Aaliya Hussain. The film didn’t perform as well at the box office or with critics. Rumours persist that more films are planned for the franchise, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
