Ranveer Singh Threat Case

A recent development has emerged in the threat and extortion case involving actor Ranveer Singh, with the Mumbai Police tightening their investigation and escalating action against suspects linked to the matter. Police had sent the threatening voice note received by Ranveer Singh’s manager to the Punjab and Haryana police for verification.

Look Out Circular (LOC) Issued For Ranveer Singh Threat Case

According to officials, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has now issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against an accused believed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Harichandra alias Harry Boxer, preventing the suspect from leaving the country and enabling authorities to detain them at airports or international checkpoints.

The case surfaced after Ranveer Singh was reportedly threatened by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang with a Rs 10 crore demand, delivered via a voice note sent from a US number. The Crime Branch has initiated a preliminary investigation, linking the voice message to Harry Boxer, and has heightened the actor’s security measures. Alarmed by the intimidation, the actor approached the authorities, following which a formal complaint was registered, and the Crime Branch took charge of the probe.

Earlier, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported a fresh development in the case. An audio clip began circulating widely on social media in which a man identified himself as “Harry Boxer” and claimed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In the recording, he allegedly issued direct threats against Ranveer Singh as well as filmmaker Rohit Shetty, further escalating concerns around the matter.

Mumbai Police Crime Branch Sent Voice Note For Further Investigation

During the investigation, police began tracing the source of the threats through phone records, digital footprints and technical surveillance. Preliminary findings suggested links to Harry Boxer, a member of the Bishnoi gang, which has previously been associated with multiple high-profile extortion and threat cases targeting public figures and celebrities like Salman Khan, Rohit Shetty, Elvish Yadav and more.

As the probe intensified, officials moved to issue the LOC against one of the suspected operatives. The step is considered significant because it restricts international travel and strengthens law enforcement’s ability to track and apprehend the accused quickly. Officers are also coordinating with cybercrime units to analyse communication data and identify any additional collaborators involved in the attempt.

Besides this, Salman Khan’s brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma, has also reportedly received a threat email. The threat email was sent to him on February 11. This case is also being probed by the Mumbai crime branch.
