After Anurag Kashyap, Richa Chadha shared her lawyer’s statement as her name was dragged in the #MeToo allegations levelled against the filmmaker by actress Payal Ghosh.

Richa in her statement said that she believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, but no women should be allowed to misuse their liberties.

Richa’s lawyer’s statement reads, “Our Client ‘Ms. Richa Chadda’, condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a defamatory manner into controversies and allegations being recently raised by third parties. Though our Client believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, there are legislations that are intended to ensure that women have an equal standing in their workplace and to ensure that they have a cordial workplace in which their dignity and self-respect is protected.”

“No woman can be allowed to misuse their liberties to harass other women with unsubstantiated or non-existent, false and baseless allegations. Payal Ghosh, while leveling sexual harassment allegations against Anurag reporteldy, named actresses like Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill and Richa Chadha. Payal said that the filmmaker told her that all the actresses who have worked with him had no problem with his sexual advances. Following which Richa resorted to legal action and released the above statement.

Meanwhile, Anurag too has denied all the allegations leveled against him by Payal. He called them ‘malicious and dishonest’.
