Rishi Kapoor may be away from his motherland, but he is always joined at heart with it. Despite being in the US, the actor has time and again spoken up about important issues in India. Whether they are political or apolitical, he has never shied away from commenting on them.

So when it came to the important decision of who all will go for the coveted cricket World Cup in England, Rishi wasn’t far behind from giving his piece of mind. Now, after last night’s fantastic performance by Rishabh Pant, he questions Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri as to why he wasn’t selected for the World Cup squad.

Rishi took to Twitter to write, “Why is Rishabh Pant not in the squad for the World Cup? You there? @RaviShastriOfc @imVkohli (sic).” It’s a question that the rest of the nation also wants to know from the Indian cricket team’s captain and head coach. Here’s Rishi’s tweet:

It’s agreed that Rishabh’s wicket keeping hasn’t been up to the mark. Dinesh Kartik was given preference over Rishab as the second wicket keeper for the World Cup. However, what the Indian selectors are missing out is that Rishabh has that X-factor which players like Chris Gayle or Virender Sehwag have. On a day when Rishab is playing good, he will take the match away from the opposition, just by his sheer presence.

After last night’s performance of Rishab in the very important eliminator match, it became clear that the Indian team needed him to be in place for the World Cup as well. Rishi has asked a pertinent question and we will await a satisfactory answer from Virat or Ravi.
