Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: Main Accused Fingerprints Do NOT Match With Those Found In Actor’s Home; Latest Update

During the wee hours of January 16, an intruder entered Saif Ali Khan’s Mumbai residence. While his attempts at robbing the actor were futile, the thief landed up stabbing the actor several time. After day hospitalised, the actor was ultimately discharged from medical care and an accused – Shariful Islam, was arrested by the Mumbai Police. Now, there a new update in the stabbing case.

As per a recent media report, the accused fingerprints have not matched those prints obtained from the actor’s home. Read on to know more.

Major Twist In Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case

As per a News18 report, last week the Mumbai Police filed a chargesheet in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in connection to the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. The chargesheet – which is reportedly 1000 pages long, contains several pieces of evidence against the accused, Shariful Islam. The evidence reportedly includes facial recognition test results, fingerprint reports, an identification parade report, and findings of the forensic lab.

The chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police reveals that the crucial fingerprint samples collected from inside Saif Ali Khan’s Mumbai flat did do not match with that of the accused Shariful Islam. According to the report, nearly ⁠20 samples were sent to the state CID’s Fingerprint Bureau for checking. Of these, 19 did not match with that of the accused.

According to details in the chargesheet, the fingerprints found on the bathroom door, the sliding door of the bedroom, and the cupboard door did not match with Shariful. However, ⁠the only fingerprint that matched with the accused was the one recovered from the eighth floor of the building. ⁠Mumbai police sources have stated that the chances of fingerprints matching are one in 1000 as several people use and touch objects, which is why the fingerprint match is not foolproof evidence.

The police had also opposed the bail plea of the accused in the case. They informed the Mumbai court that the knife fragment that got lodged near the spine of Khan and the one found at the scene of the crime matched with the weapon recovered from the accused.
