Salman Khan is finally a free man. The superstar has been acquitted of all charges in the 2002 Hit & Run case of 2002. The Khan’s legal team has also withdrawn their appeal from the Supreme Court seeking examination of Kamaal Khan as court witness in the case. A bench headed by Justice Madan B Lokur allowed Salman’s lawyer to withdraw his appeal

Salman Khan was convicted to a five year jail term by a session court in the Hit & Run case. The 2002 case is when Salman had apparently in a drunken state driven his car over some people as they were sleeping on the pavement in Bandra killing one and injuring four.

The Khan had then appealed in the High Court and also put forward a request to call singer Kamaal Khan one of the person in car when the incident took place.The Bombay high court had dismissed Salman’s plea of bringing in Kamaal Khan.

The High Court dismissed the Case on basis that prosecution had failed to prove the actor was driving the vehicle at the time of accident and was drunk.
