The team of Samrat Prithviraj – Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar and Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi have headed to Varanasi for the promotions of their film which is scheduled to release on June 3. As the team is in Varanasi, they attended the grand Ganga puja to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva ahead of a film release. On Tuesday, Akshay took to his Instagram account and dropped a video from the city, giving us a peek into his visit to the holy place.

In the video, we also get to see Akshay taking a dip into the Ganga River after they performed the puja. Sharing the video with his fans, the Sooryavanshi actor captioned, “Team #SamratPrithviraj in Varanasi yesterday. Film releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on a big screen near you on 3rd June.” Earlier, in another picture, we see Akshay in a blush pink kurta and pyjama holding a plate of flowers while staring at the crowd at the banks of the Ganga River.

On the other hand, Maushi who is set to make her Bollywood debut with this magnum opus was seen wearing a pretty pink traditional attire with her hair pulled back in a bun. As Manushi Chhillar is making her big Bollywood debut, her co-star Akshay shared a post for her saying, “I know the wait for your debut has been a long one, but you managed it just like a Princess with utmost poise and dignity. Now it’s almost time…Happy birthday @manushi_chhillar, wishing you all the happiness in life.

Helmed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Samrat Prithviraj is to release on June 3. The film is based on the life of legendary warrior Prithviraj Chauhan and his love for Princess Sanyogita. The period drama also stars Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt.
