India is gearing up for Lok Sabha polls and the first phase of voting will begin from April 11 onwards. The election process will last for seven phases and the results will be declared on May 23. Now, there were rumours of Sanjay Dutt fighting the upcoming polls from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

Now, the ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ actor has put all rumours to rest by clarifying that he would not be contesting the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Only recently, reports had claimed that the 59-year-old actor would be contesting the elections from the constituency of Ghaziabad.

Sanjay Dutt put out a tweet on social media that made it very clear that he is not taking part in the elections. The actor wrote on Twitter, “The rumor about me contesting for the Loksabha elections is not true. I stand with my country and in full support for my sister @PriyaDutt_INC. I urge everyone to come out in  maximum numbers and cast their vote for our nation!”

Let’s not forget that, Sanju’s father late Sunil Dutt was a Congress MP and a union minister. And his sister Priya Dutt has also been a Lok Sabha MP in the past.
