‘Shamshera’: Ranbir Kapoor’s film to go on floors on THIS day

Ranbir Kapoor is riding high on the success of ‘Sanju’ which was one of the highest grossing films of this year. The film was well received by critics and audiences alike and Ranbir Kapoor is definitely in the running for ‘Best Actor’ awards at various functions next year.

The actor is all set to start shooting for ‘Shamshera’. Yash Raj Films had announced the film on Twitter in May this year. Here’s the tweet:

And now, we learn that the film is supposed to start tomorrow i.e. December 1st. The cast and crew even came together for a puja which is a YRF tradition started by Late Yash Chopra. The film is set to be an action adventure and will star Vaani Kapoor alongside Ranbir. It’ll be directed by Karan Malhotra.

Earlier, in a statement, Ranbir had said, “‘Shamshera’ is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching Hindi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. ‘Shamshera’ allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me.

Ranbir is collaborating with YRF after a long time. He had earlier done films like ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year’ under the banner. He is also busy shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ which also stars his lady love Alia Bhatt.
