Sonu Nigam gets stuck in Dubai amidst Coronavirus pandemic; Netizens target him over old ‘Azaan’ tweets

Bollywood’s celebrated singer Sonu Nigam is stuck in Dubai currently owing to the outbreak of Coronavirus. The singer is trending on Twitter and in case you are wondering why? Then read on to find out the reason.

Since Sonu couldn’t return to India due to the lockdown, he is living with his wife and son in Dubai. Now after his old tweets over loudspeaker playing Azaan in Mosque resurfaced, the singer started trending on the micro-blogging site.

Back in 2017, the ‘Main Hoon Na’ singer had pointed out at ‘forced religiousness’ in the country. “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India. And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he mad Islam…Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison,” the singer had tweeted back in the day.

And now netizens couldn’t help but find the whole situation irony that he is stuck in Dubai and they came up with some of the most hilarious memes. Trolls are claiming that the singer deactivated his Twitter handle owing to his old ‘Islamophobic’ tweets. Netizens also started trending the hashtag ‘Sonu Nigam Tum Kahan Ho’. However, the fact is, the singer had deactivated his account three years back.
