CONFIRMED: Tamil actor Jiva roped in for Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had made his debut in 2010 with Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Band Baaja Baaraat‘ and within a decade, he is a top actor now. He has been in the limelight for a while now, due to his marriage with Deepika Padukone and impressive performances in two films last year. The 33-year-old actor is in a zone where very few actors reach during their career. After giving two back to back hit films including ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has now begun prep for his next, ‘83’.

Notably, Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83’ is a biopic on Kapil Dev, the man who captained the Indian Cricket Team which clinched the first World Cup for India in the year 1983. Ranveer Singh will don the role of Kapil Dev. Recently, the makers of ‘83’ took to social media and shared a video stating that the entire cast will be announced soon. However, the video confirmed the release date of the film as April 10, 2020.

A few days back, the makers of the film revealed that Punjabi actor and singer Ammy Virk has been finalised to play the role of Balwinder Singh Sandhu in the much-awaited film. Also, actors including Sunny Kaushal, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Hardy Sandhu and Pankaj Tripathi have been roped in for the biopic.

And now, according to the report published in Pinkvilla, Tamil actor Jiiva has been roped in to play the role of Krishnamachari Srikkanth. Pinkvilla quoted Madhu Mantena as saying, “I have been a huge fan of Jiiva since the time I saw one of my favourite films with him called KO. I have always wanted to remake it here in Hindi. It’s awesome that finally, I am getting a chance to work with him. I can’t think of anyone better to be able to do justice in playing Srikkanth on the big screen.”

It is to be noted Madhu Mantena is a producer of the film ‘83’.
