Makers of Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ to soon unveil entire cast

Along with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, his upcoming film ‘83’ has been in the news for quite some time now. The film has been creating buzz ever since Ranveer shared pictures from his practice session. After giving two back to back hit films including ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Simmba’, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh began prep for his next, ‘83’. On the other hand, makers of ‘83’ have been keeping us all excited with regular updates.

On Tuesday, the makers took to social media and shared a video stating that the entire cast will be announced soon. The video further confirms the release date of the film as April 10, 2020.

Notably, Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83’ is a biopic on Kapil Dev, the man who captained the Indian Cricket Team which clinched the first World Cup for India in the year 1983. Ranveer Singh will don the role of Kapil Dev.

Recently, DNA quoted a source as saying, “Our heroic win in the 1983 World Cup is a historical event in Post-Independence India. Considering that cricket and movies are akin to religion in the country, and are bound to resonate with audiences across ages and strata, the film’s producers have decided to shoot for the Tamil and Telugu versions simultaneously.”

Interestingly, this will be Ranveer’s first trilingual film. Meanwhile, Ranveer has been sharing photos and videos from his preparations for the upcoming film on social media. Have a look:

On the work front, apart from ‘83’, the actor has many projects lined up in his kitty. His upcoming film ‘Gully Boy’, which also stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role, is slated to release on February 14. The film has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and Ranveer will be seen playing a rapper in the same.

After ‘Gully Boy’, Ranveer will be seen in Karan Johar‘s next directorial venture, ‘Takht’. The period drama also features Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in important roles. The film will release in 2020.
