On World Environment Day, India is all set to contribute to making the world plastic free by coming together to combat single-use plastic pollution. Many Bollywood celebrities have come forward to support #BeatPlasticPollution campaign. Now ‘Judwaa 2’ star Varun Dhawan too has decided to do his bit for the environment.

He is all set to supports the volunteer group ForWard 69 formed by the residents of Juhu to clean up the locality. Varun will do plastic bottle crushing in the plastic bottle-crushing kiosk at Juhu beach to fight single-use plastic pollution and appeal everyone to avoid the use of single-use plastic.

He will also speak to the youth and encourage them to take up this initiative and join hands in the beach cleanup along with the citizens.

The actor said, “I have spent many evening on the beach, playing cricket or enjoying gola with my friends. It pains me to see the state of affairs today. Versova beach is an example of how beaches can be cleaned if people put their mind to it. It’s time to make a beginning. On the work front, Varun will next be seen in Karan Johar’s period drama ‘Kalank’ that also stars Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. He is also busy with the shoot of ‘Sui Dhaaga’ co-starring Anushka Sharma and next on the pipeline is a dance film with Katrina Kaif.
