On April 14, influencer Simran Bhat posted a clip claiming that Dhawan had orchestrated fake reviews for his film, which is scheduled for release in theatres on May 22. The controversy began when Simran shared an Instagram reel recounting an incident at Rajiv Chowk Metro station in Delhi. She alleged that two individuals approached her and her friend to request a review of Varun’s teaser. She said she declined because she hadn’t watched it, but the two reportedly insisted, offering to tell her what to say—prompting her to question the authenticity of such reviews.

Simran further explained that they urged her to watch the teaser immediately. She declined due to a lack of time. Expressing her disbelief, she asked, “Bhai, Varun Dhawan ke itne bure din aagaye kya ki usko fake reviews lene pad rahe hai? What the hell?”

Varun Dhawan responded to Simran’s reel with a comment. He said, “Hope you get the views you really want with this video (sic).” Simran replied, asserting that she doesn’t need to resort to such tactics for views. She is already satisfied with her current reach.

She then shared Varun’s comment on her Instagram Stories, urging him to verify with his PR team. The influencer believed the incident could harm his image. Additionally, she posted a screenshot of another comment—allegedly deleted by Varun—that questioned why it was removed.
